The Book Group meets on the first Monday of each month, 2 pm. at Canvey Library.

The Book Group was one of the first groups started when our U3a was created.  Over time people have come and gone although one or two of us are still there.  Our meetings have always been on the first Monday in the month at Canvey Library.

We give the library ladies a list of books which we think we might like to read and they do their best to get them.  There has always been a restriction on member numbers as the library can normally only get 8 books of the same kind.  At the moment we have 8 members, so therefore can’t take anyone else.  

I would be happy to start a waiting list or you could always start a new group!

We read all genre of books although not so much Horror or Romance.  Some of the books we really enjoy,  some not so much.   One of the reasons I joined was at the beginning, the group didn’t read Crime books (which is all I read) and I thought  it would make me broaden my horizons.  Still debating whether it’s worked.

So, if you love reading get in touch or as I said why not start your own group.
