Major Cinema Senior Schemes
- ODEON Silvers: Tickets start from £2 for guests over 60 during quieter screening times, which includes tea, coffee, and biscuits before the film. [1, 2]
- Cineworld CineSeniors: Weekly Wednesday screenings for those over 60 priced at £4.50 per ticket, including a complimentary hot drink and a snack. [1, 2]
- Showcase Silver Screenings: Held every Thursday for films starting at or before 4 PM, featuring discounted tickets priced at £4.99 plus hot drink and snack offers. [1]
- Independent Cinemas: Many local and independent picturehouses offer senior concessions or specialized daytime matinee clubs—it is always worth checking with your closest venue.

New Groups' Coordinator Required
Our u3a urgently requires a new Groups Coordinator. The job is not difficult. Historically, the post has always been a committee position, but it is not necessary to be a committee member if you would like to try the job. Please contact the Business Secretary / General Enquiries for more information and a full copy of the Role Description.
It has been noted that some members, as well as committee members, appear to be unaware of the distinction between the roles of Group Liaison and Groups' Coordinator.
To try to distinguish. The Group Liaison is the person that every group has and who usually runs and is the main contact for that particular Group. The Groups' Coordinator is the one person (or could be two) that each of the Group Liaisons reports to if they have any queries about the running of their Group.
Many members use the wrong terminology for these two roles, and it is most important that to avoid confusion we use the correct title.
INTEREST GROUPS ONLINE
Interest Groups Online (abbreviated as IGO) is an online u3a community that gives you the opportunity to join groups, talks and courses from the comfort of your home.
Like with a u3a, the activities are run by members and are a great way to meet people from all across the u3a movement.
