Membership Renewals for 2026

Membership renewal notices were sent out on Wednesday, 15th October. Please refer to the Membership Renewals Only page for details.

Members who have not renewed their membership by 31st January 2026 will become lapsed members and will be removed from any Group that they may belong to, and will no longer be able to attend any groups or meetings.

Please be aware that membership renewals are £15 per member for the 2026 year. However, to qualify for this fee, you must renew before January 31st; after this date, you will be required to pay the full membership fee of £20.

New Groups' Coordinator Required

Our u3a urgently requires a new Groups Coordinator. The job is not difficult. Historically, the post has always been a committee position, but it is not necessary to be a committee member if you would like to try the job. Please contact the Business Secretary / General Enquiries for more information and a full copy of the Role Description.

It has been noted that some members, as well as committee members, appear to be unaware of the distinction between the roles of Group Liaison and Groups' Coordinator.

To try to distinguish. The Group Liaison is the person that every group has and who usually runs and is the main contact for that particular Group. The Groups' Coordinator is the one person (or could be two) that each of the Group Liaisons reports to if they have any queries about the running of their Group.

Many members use the wrong terminology for these two roles, and it is most important that to avoid confusion we use the correct title.

INTEREST GROUPS ONLINE

Interest Groups Online (abbreviated as IGO) is an online u3a community that gives you the opportunity to join groups, talks and courses from the comfort of your home.

Like with a u3a, the activities are run by members and are a great way to meet people from all across the u3a movement.
