The Group Liaison is the person to contact with enquiries about group meeting dates or just to get more information from. Group Liaisons are not expected to be teachers.
Some members although anxious to join or start a group are a little reluctant to put themselves forward as the Group Liaison. Without a group liaison the group would quickly fall apart.
The commitment required from the group liaison is for them to be the point of contact for the other members in the group and to make sure any members of their group not present at a particular meeting are kept informed of future activities. You are not expected to teach. Subject information should be researched by all group members and shared with the group.
If your interest group is going to be held in your home then this venue should also be shared between all group members where possible.
***IMPORTANT PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR GROUP IS UP TO DATE ON BEACON***
It has been noticed that new members of some groups are not being added to the Group members list on Beacon. If, as a Group Liaison, you have log in access to Beacon, please log in and get it up to date. If you do not use Beacon, please contact our Groups Coordinator with a list of your updated group members, so that it can be updated for you.
If you are not sure what to do, please contact our Groups Coordinator or Business Secretary / General Enquiries
Also, please keep your Group's webpage up to date.
To include any new information on your Group's webpage (photos, articles, meeting dates etc.) please send the details to Website/Beacon and your page will be updated very quickly.
