BATTERSEA POWER STATION TRIP FOLLOW UP
Following yesterday's emails and update on the website, Lynne has advise Shani to inform you all that there are now vacancies on the Battersea Power Station trip with has been rescheduled to 27th May. If you would like to go please email Shani with your name, membership number and your phone number. Shani will pass them over to Lynne. This is time critical so please contact Shani as soon as possible.

BATTERSEA POWER STATION (RESCHEDULED)
Due to the sad loss of Kay's son Anthony, the funeral is being held on the 20th May so therefore the trip to Battersea Power Station has been postponed until 27th May. For those of you that have booked a seat, please contact Lynne on today or tomorrow, Wednesday 13th May to rearrange your trip as Lynne is away from Thursday. Please confirm that you have seen this message and whether you can make the new date or not. Lynne can be contacted on 07840 688943.
IMPORTANT AND URGENT NOTIFICATION
For those of you that are unaware, Kay our chairman has recently lost her beloved son, Anthony last week.
The committee would like to request as many members as possible to come to the meeting at The Paddocks on Monday 18th May and make a donation.
The money raised to be spent as Kay wishes, which could be a plaque for Anthony's favorite bench in the precinct, if they give permission or maybe a donation to the Indie Rose charity. We hope to see you all there.
The Canvey u3a would like express our deepest sympathy to Kay, and our thoughts are with her and her family.

New Groups' Coordinator Required
Our u3a urgently requires a new Groups Coordinator. The job is not difficult. Historically, the post has always been a committee position, but it is not necessary to be a committee member if you would like to try the job. Please contact the Business Secretary / General Enquiries for more information and a full copy of the Role Description.
It has been noted that some members, as well as committee members, appear to be unaware of the distinction between the roles of Group Liaison and Groups' Coordinator.
To try to distinguish. The Group Liaison is the person that every group has and who usually runs and is the main contact for that particular Group. The Groups' Coordinator is the one person (or could be two) that each of the Group Liaisons reports to if they have any queries about the running of their Group.
Many members use the wrong terminology for these two roles, and it is most important that to avoid confusion we use the correct title.
INTEREST GROUPS ONLINE
Interest Groups Online (abbreviated as IGO) is an online u3a community that gives you the opportunity to join groups, talks and courses from the comfort of your home.
Like with a u3a, the activities are run by members and are a great way to meet people from all across the u3a movement.
